After playing drums for a few years in a regional folk rock favorite, UpFromUnder, Arlis began writing songs and eventually formed his own solo project. Soon after he began playing shows as an acoustic solo act in Northeastern Oklahoma, eventually enlisting the help of musicians for select shows.
In the fall and spring following: the new lineup toured regionally, sharing the stage with several national acts and indie rock favorites from, Militia Group, Drive-Thru, Credential, EMI, Warner Brothers, Doghouse, and countless others.
After moving over 2,000 copies of their last release,"Songs to Burn Your Library Card By", he and the band took a break to record their newest release, "Gas Lights & Drive Thrus". Arlis Moon notes, "Gas Lights is a very raw and real approach to what we've been doing musically right now. We've been using a grity old rhodes, old pianos, and analog synths and hammond organs. The drums are really big and aggressive, the guitars are real driving and expressive, while the vocals hold it all together. There was no auto-tuned vocals or any really over-produced sections of it, really an organic record...".
