Not long ago, two natives of The Republic of Texas and a couple of Yankees coalesced in a small room in South Austin bringing a solid track record in punk, noise, rock, emo, pop and metal into a collective mix. The result is raw melody backed by focus, density, noise and intensity turned savory song oriented history in the making.
Corruption Is King first surfaced during the summer of 2002 with a 3-piece blast of sonic girth. The band later refined their progressively signature sound -by adding a 4th component in the spring of 2003- creating an impenetrable wall of guitar rock with hooks aplenty. With the new collective in place, Corruption Is King continues to bowl over hearts and minds in the region with frequent sightings in Dallas, Houston, Austin and beyond. Having shared stages with everyone from Hot Water Music, to The Distillers, to Gibby Haynes, to Elliot and many more, Corruption Is King's sound bridges gaps.
Having little regard for the trend of the season and full regard for all that brought them down this path, Corruption Is King leaves irony by the wayside and brings back the "epic" in rock. CIK delivers an urgent and gripping sound reminiscent of the greats: Quicksand, Failure , Helmet, Fugazi and Shiner but all the while maintains their own twist on the big, noisy guitar rock sound.
