QUICK BIO

DB's attitude and focus has remained the same: to write, record, and tour non-stop in the hopes of spreading their delicious mix of pop sensibilities and punk rock fervor to anyone and everyone who'll listen. That 7" and following tour sparked the thirst to travel and continue pushing themselves to the limit (creatively, mentally, and physically) everyday in the name of their craft. With the help a friend's school loan money, they wrote and recorded their first full length (entitled Hell Is Other People) in their hometown of Austin, Texas with local punk icon Chris Gates (Big Boys, Poison 13, Junkyard) and immediately found a Texas based independent label, Offtime Records, to release it.

With the release of the album and ensuing tour, they were approached by Orange County, California label Fearless Records to sign for a couple records. They recognized the songwriting and work ethic of the band and decided that together, Dynamite Boy and Fearless would make a great team. The band found themselves in the studio again less than 9 months after the release of Hell IsÂ… to record with Jim Goodwin (who's recorded legends like Face To Face, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and Guttermouth) for an album entitled Finder's Keeper's. The album landed them spots opening on tours such as Strung Out, MXPX, AFI, and many others. So many, in fact, that they spent 9 out of the next 12 months jammed in a van traveling the country, bringing the rock.

Once again it was time for DB to enter the studio (almost a year to the day of the release of their last outing) in the fall of 2000 to record Somewhere In America. Released in the spring of 2001, and recorded by uber-producer Cameron Webb (with bands like Godsmack, Danzig, Zebrahead, Tenacious D and No Doubt to his credit), SomewhereÂ… was the most ambitious effort to date. Gone were many of the high-school love anthems and in their place stood a solid set of songs that reflected the band's many experiences over the last couple years, both good and bad. Of course, the touring that followed was no less hectic than in the past, with bands like The Queers, No Use for a Name, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Mest, the Ataris, Pulley, the Voodoo Glow Skulls and many others grabbing the band for months at a time, including a stint on the infamous Van's Warped Tour in 2002. The "new" van they had purchased only 6 months before recording SomewhereÂ… already had 200,000 miles on it, and their previous van was retired with it's own 200,000 miles. The songs from SomewhereÂ… had already garnered them attention via extreme sports programs, movie soundtracks, and even attracted the attention of Australian-based Shock Records (arguably the biggest and best punk rock label in Aussie-land), who've decided to carry all of DB's released down under. Songs like "No Way Out" and "Catching On" have received radio play and Mp3.com success nationwide.

Road-weary and brimming with ideas, Dynamite Boy settled down in the fall of 2002, after a month long tour with emo-pop stars Further Seems Forever, and began to write their last album for Fearless Records. By February, 2003, they had enlisted a local friend/producer to record their finest effort yet. Over thirteen months of recording and production has lead to a fine example of what can happen when a band that truly wants to put their best foot forward is given the opportunity. The self-titled fourth album Dynamite Boy is the proud child of four guys that never thought they'd ever even find the money to record that 7" all those years ago. This is DB's gift to everyone who ever had faith enough to give them a chance.

And don't think for a second that they've gotten lazy or jaded with their position on the punk rock radar (in fact, while awaiting the album's May 18th release date, they toured for two and a half months with Mest, Fallout Boy, and Matchbook Romance). That wouldn't be Dynamite Boy's style, and you can be sure that their place in the musical landscape has been carved.
