Based out of Austin, Texas, Dysfunkshun Junkshun has been one of the front running live bands in the south western U.S. for over ten years. Austin is often referred to as �"The Live Music Capital of the World�". With that in mind, people tend have visions of country singers, blues guitar players, and roots rock troubadours. Although plenty exist, it�'s wonderful to see a band like this keeping innovative urban music alive. Influenced by the greats like Parliament Funkadelic, Sly and the Family Stone and Prince, they have taken their muse to another level by creating something innovative, funky and down right raw. Consisting of seven members who seem to bring in a wealth of diversity and style, it�'s not hard to find them somewhere at a university frat house making the crowd bounce or in a crowded bar working up a sweat. They are often compared to artists such as Lenny Kravitz, The Black Eyed Peas, and the Time due to their vast blend of urban/rock style. They are fronted by an animated lead singer known as �"Brother Magnum�" who is wild as he is wise. When asked what separates this band from other current urban acts, he quickly boasts, �"We have the ability to play the music live rather than relying on tricks, gimmicks, and effects. It�'s all about entertainment, man. But if you don�'t move you shouldn't be up here son!�" Check out their independent release cleverly titled �"Suga-water Purple Groove-a-listic.�" The title? We don�'t know either!
