  1. What is Double Stereo?

    Double Stereo is a free digital music platform for independent record labels, major record labels and bands. Artists upload their information and musical content to stream or sell digitally with no sign up fees or membership fees.

    We are a promotional website that connects to other social media outlets like Facebook for fans to discover new emerging music.

    Our core business is music promotion, digital music sales and merchandise order fulfillment.

  2. What services does Double Stereo offer?

    Other than being a promotional site, we offer a free digital music platform (no sign up or membership fees) with google analytic sales / location tracking, to sell your music. We also provide site promotion and custom store fronts.

  3. Info about my music rights

    We are totally non-exclusive. You keep total ownership and rights to your music. We are sales and promotion.

  4. Is Double Stereo free? I want to sign up.

    Yes, join free to get an artist profile. You can stream or sell your music on our site, once approved.

  5. What is the Facebook connect feature at the top of the website?

    If you have a Facebook account, click our Facebook connect button located at the top of our website. It connects Double Stereo with Facebook to interact with your friends on this site and to share stories on Facebook through your Wall and friends' News Feeds. Double Stereo will also be able to automatically post one-line stories back to Facebook.

  6. Is there an artist pre-screen and why?

    Yes, we pre-screen all artists that sign up to use our services to maintain a quality experience for all users of our website. You may or may not be approved for an artist account.

  7. My Artist Account + Customizable Store Front

    Approved artist's get an artist page on Double Stereo, and a custom store front and link to your account. The custom store front is a featured optional service. It automatically includes sale content that you upload to your artist account.

  8. How do I use my customizable storefront? I want to use it on my websites.

    Login into your account and click on the artist name in your artist info section. Then, click on customize storefront.

  9. Merchandise Order Fulfillment

    We offer merchandise order fulfillment only to selected Double Stereo artist's that are associated with agencies, management, labels, or are touring. For merchandise order fulfillment inquiries contact: info (at) doublestereo.com

  10. What is the consignment rate for selling my stuff on Double Stereo?

    All digital tracks are set to be sold for $0.99. You retain 100% of each digital track sale after our $0.39 transaction fee. If you are selling digital albums and or merchandise, you set your sale price for those items. We retain only $3.50 per item. You receive the rest.

  11. How do payments work for sales of my music or merchandise?

    We pay you (Artist) on a monthly basis according to the price that has been chosen by you based on net revenue for each item. A detailed accounting statement and check payable in U.S. Dollars in the appropriate amount will be sent to you at the beginning of each month.

  12. Why is there a transaction fee?

    We've got to cover our credit card and merchant fees for processing the order as well as the space and bandwidth it takes to store your tracks on our servers.

  13. What types of songs can I upload?

    At this time, we are only accepting the MP3 format.

  14. How can I make MP3s from a CD and/or a another song format?

    One of the simplest ways to create MP3s from a CD is in iTunes. Please see the next question for information on this process.

  15. How do I change my songs to .mp3 files using iTunes?

    The default format for iTunes is an AAC file or .mp4 file. Change the import file to .mp3 by going to the iTunes "Preferences," then click the "Import Settings..." button. In the "Import Using" drop down menu select "MP3 Encoder", under Setting choose "Higher Quality (192kbps)" and then try re-importing your tracks.

  16. What are the recommended settings for songs to be encoded and uploaded?

    Double Stereo keeps high standards of quality on our music and requires at least 192kbps MP3s at a Constant Bit Rate (CBR) and a sample rate of 44.1kHz. If you have a lower quality MP3, please do not attempt to boost the quality to a level acceptable by our system. This causes the mp3 to have a degraded quality. Please rip your tracks from CD or convert from another lossless format.

  17. I just uploaded my songs successfully but they won't play./Why do my songs load but never play?

    There are a number of things that may cause this issue. Most commonly, this means the tracks have not yet finished being processed by our system. Please give each track you uploaded up to 15 minutes to finish this process.

    Another common is when there is an interuption in the upload process. Please try uploading the track(s) again and see if this solves the problem. If you are still having trouble, please contact webmaster(at)doublestereo.com. Be sure to include any error messages you may be receiving and what kind of web browser you are using.

  18. I forgot my password and login! How do I get it back?

    If you've forgotten your password, please use the forgot password form on the login screen. If you've forgotten the email address used to signup, please contact webmaster(at)doublestereo.com for assistance.

  19. How do I change my password and login information?

    Once you login, you will have access to change your login information. For example, click on Change Password to change the password you use to login.

  20. How do I update my artist page?

    Just login to your account with your email address and password. Artists associated with your account will be listed on the left hand side of the screen, each with a menu for managing their profile.

  21. I want to delete my account, how do I do that?

    Send an email to webmaster(at)doublestereo.com including the artist name. You must use the same email address used to signup on doublestereo.com.
