QUICK BIO

AustinÂ's newest All-Star alliance Rock Bottom Choir fills you more from the righteous soul and less from the worldly body. Singer-songwriter Matt McCormack leads his faithful congregation with the dueling guitars of Ryan Carter (Dewato) and Will Sexton, along with the rest of the Choir; George Reiff (Chris RobinsonÂ's New Earth Mud) on bass, Joey Shuffield (Fastball) on drums, and Bill Carter on mandolin and banjo. With a sound that lands sublimely between George HarrisonÂ's 1971 All Things Must Pass, which featured the classic Â"My Sweet LordÂ" and Bob DylanÂ's 1979 seminal spiritual rock album Slow Train Coming, Rock Bottom ChoirÂ's For All the Saints will rock your soul right out of purgatory.

Matt McCormackÂ's background is steeped in alt-country roots and southern pop-rock perdition. Originally from Memphis, TN, Matt moved to Austin, TX in 1996 where he quickly became a prominent figure in the live music scene there. McCormackÂ's debut album Tonopah was released to critical acclaim, landing him on the short list of the best new acts in 1999 by KGSR, the No. 1 AAA station in the country. MattÂ's second album was Here We Go Again in 2003 that featured the single Â"Pride,Â" soon to be released by Gene Simmons on his upcoming solo Box Set.

Will Sexton grew up in the company of country crooners, blues guitarists, and folk storytellers, the youngest member of an Austin music scene that spawned Stevie Ray Vaughn, brother Charlie Sexton and others. With a wise and twisted style of songwriting, SextonÂ's writing credits range from Waylon Jennings and Stephen Stills to Joe Ely and Bill Carter, and he names Terry Allen, Sheryl Crow, and hitmaker David Baerwald among his favorite-writing partners.

Guitarist Ryan Carter is also the lead vocalist for Dewato, an up-tempo melodic rock band whose debut album garnered industry attention. The Austin American-StatesmanÂ's 2000 AMP Awards included them on the best albums of the year list and selected them as one of the best new acts of the year.

Bill Carter, hit writer for Stevie Ray Vaughn, Brian Setzer, Robert Palmer, and Terry McBride to name a few, and former member of the now defunct P featuring Gibby Haynes and Johnny Depp, adds his banjo/mandolin flair to the congregation. Lastly, rounding out the Choir is percussionist extraordinaire Joey Shuffield of multi-Platinum selling recording artists Fastball.
