The Devil Wears Prada had the biggest year of their young lives and career in 2009. They capped their year with the prestigoius “Band of the Year” award from Alternative Press, outshining acts like fan favorites Paramore and every other Warped Tour headliner. Is it the power of Christ? Or is it the fact they took live metalcore, secular and non, to a whole other level? Maybe it is perhaps they have legions of loyal followers who are also “followers”. Being on the main stage at Warped Tour 2009 didn’t hurt either.
Jigsaw is back! KillerTours.com has teamed up with Rise Records’ Miss May I to bring you the new music video for "Forgive and Forget". Fun Fun Fun Fest was busy busy busy for Double Stereo. Blog editor Ian Morales and contributor/blogger for nitesblog.com Ajay Miranda combined forces with writer/photographer Sarah Vasquez to interview and photograph a wide range of bands and musicians. On Saturday (day 1 of the fest), we interviewed four bands we really like: The Sword, Dead Confederate, Russian Circles, and Red Sparowes.
In the latter part of 2008, melodic death metal group The Black Dahlia Murder received word from then lead guitarist John Kempainen that he was quitting the band. At the time, they were on tour and had to continue as a four-piece band instead of the usual quintet. But filling in the gap didn’t take long. Former Arsis guitarist Ryan Knight was recruited with the help of a friend of the band, and the rest is history. Double Stereo caught up with Ryan Knight recently to introduce him to the fans and talk about what’s new with The Black Dahlia Murder. Not just anyone can join The Black Dahlia Murder.
