Zoo Seventeen's hard hitting grooves and energetic live performances help make them one of rock's most promising acts. The band employs proficient musicianship and strong songwriting to achieve a sound that is infectious. The four piece from Austin, Texas blends no holds barred rock with well formed sonic architecture. With confident swagger, vocalist JewDon III has a natural ability to captivate an audience. His aggressive soulful voice and powerful onstage persona are at the core of the bands appeal. On guitar is Matt Cole, a versatile player whose abilities span the spectrum from textural to explosive. The rhythm section of Paul Bawa on drums and Roger Wuthrich on bass round out the sound of the band with grooves that are the heartbeat of the music and go well beyond the role of simply holding down the bottom end. The bands unrelenting work ethic and dedication have led them to come a long way in a short amount of time. Since coming together in 2004, they have brought their music into venues throughout Texas, including a well-received performance during Corpus Christis popular C101 C-sculptures event. Currently, Zoo Seventeen is set to release a full length CD in the fall of 2006 while maintaining an active schedule of live shows.
